Burl Keys, age 92 of rural Paris, passed away at 2:47 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015 at his residence. He was a life-long farmer. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Edgar County Farm Bureau, and American Legion Post 211. Mr. Keys served in the United States Marine Corps. Born August 26, 1923 in Paris, he was the son of the late Redmon Earl "Joe" Keys and the late Ester (Hamm) Keys. He married Ermagene J, (Hughes) Keys March 16, 1946 and she passed away October 21, 2004. Survivors include four children; Pat (Rhonda) Keys of Paris, Tom (Linda) Keys of Paris, Nancy (Darrel) Good of Urbana, and Cathy Cochran of Paris, three siblings, Wayne Keys of Paris, Alvin Keys of Paris, and Julia Moore of Paris, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, a son Mike Keys, and two siblings; Don Keys and Lester Gene Keys. Visitation for Mr. Keys will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 22 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with Wake Prayer Services conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 23 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. David Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow in North Arm Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to North Arm Cemetery.
