Brian Dale Shonk Sr., age 70, of Kansas, Illinois, passed away at 9:34 P.M. on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home.

Brian was born on August 31, 1951 in Paris, Illinois. He is the son of the late William Perry and Evelyn Ruth Shanks Shonk.

Brian was retired from Simonton Windows. He also worked for Morgan Manufacturing and Elledge Construction. During his spare time, Brian loved to play pool, go fishing and bowling.

He is survived by his children: Amber (Michael) Burns of Kansas, Illinois, Brian Shonk Jr. of Newburg, Indiana; his adopted daughter, Jennifer Hornbrook of Paris, Illinois; his brother, Michael (Debbie) Shonk of Paris, Illinois; 5 grandchildren, his niece, Angie (Seth) Bercaw; his great nieces: Paisley Ruhlig, Brooklyn Sweet; his great nephews, Spencer Ruhlig and Whaylon Bercaw.

Brian is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, and his nephew, Mikey Shonk.

The family request that memorials be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
