Beulah Sharlene Hughes age 92 of Paris, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at her residence. In keeping with Federal Mandates; all services are private to immediate family only. She was born February 9, 1928 in Vermilion, Illinois, the daughter of the late Claude and Emma Sawlaw. Beulah or Boots was employed by several businesses in Paris during her working career. She worked at the Godding Boot Factory, Colsons, Windbreaker Jacket Factory, Zenith, Grab it Here, Rays Star Market, and Pages IGA. Beulah worked for Casey's General Store during her semi-retirement and she fully retired at the age of 75. She enjoyed going to ball games of her children and grandchildren and being with her family. She was loved by so many people and loved everyone. Beulah married Harry C. Hughes November 9, 1946 in Henderson, Kentucky, he preceded her in death on May 1, 2013, and they were married 66 years and 6 months. She is survived by her children; Harry W. (Carol) Hughes of Paris, Illinois, Wyatt (Lorrie) Hughes of Paris, Illinois, Vanetta (Clark Haase) Roberts of Paris, Illinois, her grandchildren; Joe Hughes of Paris, Illinois, Matt Hughes of Saltillo, Mississippi, Weston (Jenny) Hughes of Marshall, Illinois, Whitney (Josh) Stepp of Pearl, Mississippi, Jared Roberts of Paris, Illinois, Heath Roberts of Paris, Illinois, her great grandchildren; Peyton Hughes, Connor Hughes, Chazz Lindsey, Chloee Hughes, Ashtin Stepp, Collin Stepp, Maddox Stepp, and Alivia Roberts; a nephew; Forrest Sonny Sawlaw of Monticello, Illinois and a niece; Patricia Leonard of Temple, Texas. Beulah was preceded in death by her parents; Claude and Emma Sawlaw, her brother; Wayne Sawlaw, her sisters; Nema Clark, Opal, a grandson; Daniel and a nephew; Max Sawlaw.
Memorials may be made to Paris Youth Baseball.
