Betty J. Van Houtin age 91 of Paris, IL passed away at 2:45 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2018 in Paris Health Care Center in Paris. She was a member of Gods Mission of Faith Church. Betty was a supervisor at U.O. Colson and Co. for 43 years.

Graveside services are 2 p.m., Thursday August 16, 2018 in Edgar Cemetery. Entombment will be in the Edgar Mausoleum in Edgar Cemetery. Visitation is from noon to 1:45 p.m., Thursday, August 16, 2018 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Betty was born June 18, 1927 in Paris, IL the daughter of the late Austin and Barbara Cunningham Newman.

She married Hurley Van Houtin in Paris in 1977 and he passed away January 4, 1993.

She is survived by her step-children: Art Van Houtin of Paris, Olin Van Houtin of Ashmore and Jerry Van Houtin of Paris; several nieces and nephews and a niece-in-law: Margaret Newman of Paris.

Betty was preceded in death by her step-son Richard Van Houtin, her nephews Terry Newman, Danny J. Newman, Denzel Terrell, Russell Terrell and her siblings Louis Newman and Margaret Newman.
