Betty L. McGinness, age 93 of Redmon, Illinois, passed away at 6:04 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Twin Lakes Rehab and Health Care Center in Paris.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday October 7, 2019 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with the Rosary at 9 a.m. and a Liturgical Wake Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Payne Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Lincoln Land Hospice.

Betty worked in the trust department of Edgar County Bank and Trust. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Altar Society, and a former member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and the Brocton American Legion Post 977 Auxiliary.

Born December 19, 1925 in Redmon, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Delbert and Gladys (Lindsey) Wallace. She married Joseph R. McGinness August 21, 1946 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Paris; he passed away June 25, 1995.  Survivors include five daughters; Joyce Clapp of Toledo, Illinois, Debbie  (Jim) Watters of Paris, Illinois, Becky Newcomer of Redmon, Illinois, Joan Wamsley of Paris, Illinois, and Jean McGinness of St. Louis, Missouri, a brother Don Wallace of Paris, Illinois, twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren with one expected.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter Mary Garman and her granddaughter Laura.
