Betty J. Griffin, 89 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 6:12 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Sugar Creek Alzheimer's Special Care Center in Normal, Illinois. She had worked at Citizens Bank, U.O. Colson & Company, Zenith Corporation, and was a homemaker.  She was a member of Bell Ridge Christian Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, and was a member of the Asher Community Club.

Born August 13, 1929 in Paris, she was the daughter of the late Olaf and Marie (Cox) Drake. She married James H. Griffin June 30, 1950 at Bell Ridge Christian Church, and he survives.  Other survivors include her children; Virginia "Ginny" Stoeber and her husband Jerome of Bloomington, Illinois and Wayne H. Griffin and his wife Vickie of Paris, a brother Richard Drake and his wife Peggy of Paris, four grandchildren; Katie Keller and her husband Greg of Paris, Jennifer Stoeber of Normal, Illinois, Andrew Stoeber of Mackinaw, Illinois, and Alycia Elliott and her husband Chris of Danville, Indiana, six great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and there is one great grandchild due in September, and one great-great grandchild due in November.  She was preceded in death by one brother Russell Drake and one sister Barbara Switzer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2019 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with visitation from Noon until service time.
