Bernard "Bernie" Jerome Sudduth, 85, of Paris, IL quietly passed away at 12:20 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017 at his home with devoted and close friend Delores Warmouth by his side.

A memorial visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday March 21, 2017 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home concluded by a prayer service and military honors by American Legion Post 211 and V.F.W. 3601.  Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 211.

Bernie retired from the Illinois Cereal Mill after 33 years of employment. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1954. Bernie was a member of the American Legion Post 211 and attended the Horace Baptist Church.

Bernie was born September 16, 1931 in Edgar County the son of the late Joseph B. and Florence Marie Curl Sudduth.

He married Anita "Lou" Krentzer Sudduth, their children include: James, Joseph and Jacquelyn.  Anita preceded him in death. Bernie married Barbara Airhart Sudduth, October 6, 1962, their children include: Jennifer, Jeffrey and Judith.  Barbara passed away June 18, 2009.

He is survived by his children: Joseph B. (Lina) Sudduth of Lakeside, CA, James Allen Sudduth of Lakeside, CA, Jacquelyn (Terry) Oliviero of Mesa, AZ, Jennifer (Tim) Martin of Paris, Jeffrey (Rhonda) Sudduth of Paris and Judith (Jim) Harry of Lakeside, CA his 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bernie was preceded in death by his grandson Jamie; his siblings: Arthur "Art", Margaret, Mary Ann and Charles "Corky".

Although the family patriarch has passed away his memory, love of family and generosity will never be forgotten.
