Bennie Wayne Johnson, age 67 of Chrisman, Illinois passed away at 3:43 P.M. on Friday, June 9, 2023 as a result of a motorcycle accident.

Per his wishes, there are no services scheduled. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bennie was born on January 31, 1956 in Paris, Illinois to Emmett Henry and Edith Mae (Jenkins) Johnson. He married the love of his life and best friend, Sandra Nadine Richardson in February 2008.

A talented and dedicated mechanic by trade, Bennie was passionate about working on old cars, a hobby that brought him much joy throughout his life. He retired from the automotive industry after many years of service. Bennie's love for the open road extended beyond the garage, as he was often found cruising on his Harley.

He is survived by his children: Bennie Johnson II of Paris, Illinois, Kenneth Wayne Johnson of Paris, Illinois; his three grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Bennie is preceded in death by his daughter: Lori Ann Wagenbrenner, his parents, and a sister.

In memory of Bennie, memorials may be made to Edgar County Animal Shelter.
