Barbara Jean Dawson, 83, of Paris, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 5:42 P.M. at Horizon Health in Paris.

A visitation is scheduled from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with Pastor Troy Horne officiating.

Barbara was born on May 10, 1941, the daughter of the late William J. and Zola W. Bright. She married Robert Lee Dawson on December 19, 1959, in Paris, IL. He passed away on October 1, 2011.

Barbara was a homemaker for much of her life. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, puzzles, and bingo. Barbara was an excellent cook and baker. Her sugar cookies and peach cobbler were a favorite amongst her family. Barbara enjoyed many things throughout her life, but she always felt the happiest while surrounded by her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.

Barbara is survived by her children: Lynn (Carolyn) Dawson, Tony (Jane) Dawson, Kary Dawson, Regina (Omer) Lenhart all of Paris; her grandchildren: Luke Peebles, Briar Dawson, Erica Dawson, Amanda (Ben) Dye, Aaron (Meredith) Storey, Peyton Lenhart; her great-grandchildren: Riley Dawson, Haven Dawson, Brielle Dye, Conrad Dye, Emmitt Storey, Eli Storey; her sister in law: Carolyn Kurth; and her lifelong friend: Leila Melton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings: Betty Mansfield, Bill Bright, and Richard "Dick" Bright.

Memorials in honor of Barbara may be made to the Edgar County Humane Association.
