Barbara E. Brown, age 95 of Paris, Illinois passed away at 1:40 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Paris Health Care Center in Paris. She was a Homemaker, also working at Brown's Painting, Snappy Service, Grab It Here, and TRW in Marshall, Illinois.

Barbara was born on August 18, 1922 in Edgar County, Illinois to the late Frank and Hadie (Newhart) Griffin.

She married James I. Brown on May 11, 1946 at the Nazarene Parsonage on S. Main St. in Paris, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2002.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Brenda (Donald) Reed of Paris, Illinois; her grandchildren Jamie (Jim) Ingram of Chrisman, Illinois, Chad (Cynthia Campion) Reed of Paris, Illinois, Emily (Paul) Sims Paul of Plainfield, Indiana; greatgrandchildren Logan Ingram, Megan Ingram, Chase Reed, Alyssa Reed, Harleigh Maloney, Lorelei Sims, Jon Campion, Courtney Campion; her brother Clyde Griffin of Paris, Illinois, and her sister Margaret Kennedy of Paris, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by six brothers Richard Griffin, Vic Griffin, Kenny Griffin, Leon Griffin, Paul Griffin, and Allen Griffin; and three sisters Ethel Cassady, Martha Edington, and Audrey Marietta.

Visitation will be held from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Stewart & Carroll Funeral Home, with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery.

Memorials in memory of Barbara may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in care of the funeral home.
