Barbara Jean Boatman, age 72 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 2:09 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Twin Lakes Rehab and Healthcare in Paris. Barbara worked in sales for Montgomery Ward and was secretary for several businesses, including Wolfe's Auto Parts, Mooney Motors, Winkler Automotive, and Edgar County Bank. She was formerly the owner of Lollipops Clothing Store. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, walking, traveling with her husband, and spoiling her grandchildren. She also loved celebrating Christmas.
Barbara was born February 5, 1947 in Paris, Illinois to Henry Robison and Pauline (Shonk) Rieber. She married Richard Dale Boatman September 2, 1967 in Paris, Illinois; he passed away August 24, 2013. Survivors include her mother Pauline Rieber of Paris, her children; Lisa Ann Boatman of Daytona, Florida, Shelley Dale (Kevin) Winkler of Olney, Richard Douglas (Cassandra) Boatman of Paris, and Jaime Lynn (Tony Holt) Boatman of Paris, two brothers, Jim and Jerry Robison, both of Paris, two sisters, Phoebe (Joe) Johnson and Maxine (Carlin) Elledge, both of Paris, ten grandchildren; Chelsey Lynn (Daniel) Bennett, Macy Jane (Travis) Coffey, Ian Emerson Winkler, Montana Berlyn Boatman, Jackson Elijah Boatman, James Maxwell Boatman, Anthony Mason Boatman, Chestan Abram Webb, Xavier Holt, and Justin Asbury, a special cousin Sharon Sronce, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her step-father Otis "Moe" Rieber and two brothers, Jack and John Robison.
Visitation for Barbara will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2019 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery.
