Arnold "Arnie"
K. Wilson
September 21, 1938 – December 7, 2023
Arnold K. "Arnie" Wilson born on September 21, 1938 in Edgar County to Harold A. & Helen L. (Meadows) Wilson, passed away on the evening of December 7, 2023 at the Twin Lakes Rehab and Health Care where he had been a resident for the last year.
Arnold lived his entire life in Paris, Illinois. He married the love of his life, Janet L. See on June 26, 1960 at the Bell Ridge Christian Church. They were married for over 50 years, until her passing in 2015.
He is survived by his son Kris A. (Sharon) Wilson of Paris, his daughter Kimberly W. (Scott) Neihart of Marshall, his sister Linda Lawson of Avon, Indiana, four grandchildren Cherokee Wilson, Cheyenne Wilson, Meghan Mattingly, Austin (Kaylee) Mattingly, great grandson Kavery Voegel, and 2-bonus grandchildren, Cody Neihart and Anna Moss, and several nieces and nephews.
Arnold was a Self-Employed Sign Painter for entire adult life. "Signs" of his work are all over Edgar County and the surrounding area. Whether on pick-up trucks, semi-trucks, mailboxes, store windows or billboards one could tell it was Arnie's creative sign work.
He was also a beloved bus driver of bus #11 for over 40 years until he retired in 2022. He had the joy of hauling school kids and later on, their kids on his bus over the years. Honestly, he did not want to retire from driving a bus as it kept him going after his wife passed.
He was a long-standing member of the Paris Seventh Day Adventist Church. He loved his church family.
Arnie's last year was spent living at the Twin Lakes Rehab and Health Care where he made his new home. He enjoyed living there and loved the workers who took care of him from the Nursing staff, housekeeping staff who cleaned his room and the folks who washed his clothes, to those who transported him back and forth to doctor appointments. He enjoyed "Bantering" with all of you. He loved keeping his room door open so he could hear and watch what all was going on.
A private graveside funeral will be held, where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Janet. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Rest in peace dear Dad and Grandpa / Papaw.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the "Foods for Kids" in memory of Arnie Wilson. Donations may be mailed to Bell Ridge Christian Church or dropped off to the Trust Department at Prospect Bank.
