Allen Eugene Twigg, age 87, of Danville, IL formerly of Paris passed away at 9:52 a.m., Monday July 11, 2016 in North Logan Health Care Center, Danville. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Danville and the American Legion Post in Oakwood. Allen was a foreman in the machine maintenance department of Danville Metal Stamping. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2016 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Paris with Rev. Fr. David Zimmerman as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 211 and V.F.W. 3601. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m., Friday at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Paris American Legion Post 211.

Allen was born July 6, 1929 in Paris the son of the late Francis Orval and Mabel Helen Lutz Twigg.

He married Hazel Simons Twigg October 28, 1949 in Paris and she passed away December 29, 1998.

Allen is survived by his children: David Allen (Melody) Twigg of Cedar Vale, KS, Charles C. (Ruth) Twigg of Danville, Nancy Lynn (Jim) Haynes of Hayesville, KA, and Loretta Lore Phillips (Bob Babcock) of Danville, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six sisters and seven brothers.
