U.S. Veteran

Thomas J. (T.J.) Davis, age 79 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 9:25 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2012 in Paris Health Care Center, Paris, Illinois.  He was an Edgar County, Illinois Probation Officer and a farmer.  Mr. Davis was a United States Air Force Veteran, member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks BPOE # 812, member of American Legion Post 211, Pheasants Forever, and the Edgar County Sportsman’s Club.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman, mushroom hunter, trapper, and outdoorsman.

T.J. was born April 26, 1933 in Paris, Illinois to Robert and Helen (Hague) Davis.  He married Nancy (Dorsett) Davis June 1, 1952 in Paris, Illinois and she passed away April 4, 1998.

Survivors include two sons Jeff Davis of Plainfield, Indiana and Randy Davis of Rantoul, Illinois, one daughter Jan (John) Stoutin of Casey, Illinois, one brother Dr. Dyke Davis of Paris, Illinois, and five grandchildren; Jerrod Branson of Casey, Illinois, Hillary Branson of Paris, Illinois, Amanda Davis of Gibson City, Illinois, Audrey Grunst of Chicago, Illinois, and Matt Davis of Rantoul, Illinois.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nancy, and one sister Susan Davis.

Public visitation for Mr. Davis will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home.

Private funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home.

Private graveside services will follow in Edgar Cemetery, Paris, Illinois.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pheasants Forever.
